About Me
About Me
Louisiana is named the "Melting Pot" of the United States. So many people, from so many different backgrounds inhabit the land. Growing up in Lafayette has allowed me to experience an abundance of cultures, and the diversity in how each culture expresses itself through clothing.
My love for fashion began at a young age. When I was 10, I wanted to be a fashion designer. Now, I am earning a Textiles & Apparel Merchandising degree at Louisiana State University, with the goal of becoming a stylist. I have always been the go-to person for outfit advice, so choosing a career in styling was right up my alley. My many hobbies also led me to my career decision. I crochet, sew and embroider, and I enjoy creating outfits based on the pieces I would make. Styling has subconciously been apart of me for a while. Now I will be exploring what all my passion has to offer.
Why The Name "Des Does Too Much"?
I chose this name simply because I do a lot. Since I was a child, I've wanted to try anything under the sun that sparked my interest. DIYs were my favorite. My room was, and still is one big art project, filled with the multitude of craft hobbies that I've picked up. I wanted my name to embody my versatility and not box me into one category.
My ambition is another reason I chose the name "Des Does Too Much." With any craft, I strive to be the best at it and create never-before-seen pieces. I never let the phrase,"But you're a beginner," stop me from skipping the basics and jumping straight into challenges.
Misson
My goal is to showcase my interpretation of style, as well as some of my artwork. I hope to inspire someone who may want to pick up crocheting or start content-creating like I have. Putting my artwork out has grown me in many ways, and it has connected me with other artists from all over the world. I want everyone to be able to display their talents, so that they may inspire others as well.
